History

Good Mate Entertainment Group™ was founded by Josh Thomas Richards in 2019 with the ambition of building high-end, original screen IP outside the modern constraints of traditional funding and production models.

From the outset, the group was designed as a financially sustainable umbrella structure to incubate creative ideas, test operating models, and develop high-end media production capability. Our first operating venture was Trawler Fish (2019–), established as a creative and commercial services studio. It provided a foundation for execution, revenue generation, and the refinement of independant operating systems.

In 2023, GMEG™ launched All Too Human Pictures as a dedicated screen label. Through this label, the group developed ROT (2026), an independently produced horror feature designed to test end-to-end authorship, micro-budget production, and alternative distribution strategies. jtR For Sale began developing in 2024 as a separate platform for artworks and independent cultural output, formalising the seperation between individual practice and group-owned IP.

The long term objective our group is the launch of Good Mate Movie Studio, a fully realised Australian film studio focused on the development, production, and ownership of original, franchise-capable screen IP. This would likely be supported by an elaborate Australiana cinematic universe theme park and resort, placing the Australian entertainment industry at the top of the international food chain.
